Robert Nothhaft was born in Nuremberg, Germany and grew up near Hamburg. After school, he completed his apprenticeship and qualified as a motor mechanic in 1985 in Germany, obtaining the 2nd place in the Federal State of Schleswig Holstein in that year. This was followed by three semesters of Automotive Engineering and employment with a renowned Classic Car dealership in Hamburg, Germany.
In 1990 Robert moved to Somerset West, South Africa. Employment with the local Volkswagen dealership, an independent workshop, ownership of a petrol station was followed by the founding of Robert’s Car Repairs in 1995. Until 2015 Robert successfully conducted business, servicing, repairing and overhauling passenger cars and LDV’s of individuals and companies. In these 20 years, Robert established himself as a competent, quality-minded and honest automotive specialist, with a loyal clientele that included up to four generations of happy customers of the same family.
After a temporary career change, Robert found back to his roots and re-established Robert’s Car Repairs in 2022, still offering competence, quality and honesty as the cornerstones of his business. Robert’s expertise ensures that client’s cars are serviced with a focus on maintaining reliability and avoiding any unforeseen breakdowns. Robert’s aim is for clients not having to call on him between regular services – because he services cars right.
Robert has extensive experience with Mercedes, Volkswagen, Audi, Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Honda and Hyundai. Other brands may be serviced on request.
